### Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA)

Is a measure of the performance of a student in a Semester.

Formulae for calculating SGPA

SGPA = ∑CiGi/∑Ci

i = 1 to n

Where n = number of courses the student registered in the semester,

‘Ci’= number of credits allotted to each of the courses, and

‘Gi’ = grade-point obtained by the student in the respective courses.

### Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA)

Is a measure of the performance of a student in all Semesters.

It is given by Number of Credit points obtained in all semesters put together (divided by) Number of Credits in all the semesters put together

The final result at the end of all the semesters is declared in the form of CGPA

Formulae for calculating CGPA

CGPA = ∑CiGi/∑Ci

Where ‘m’ = number of subjects registered for in all the semesters

‘Ci’ = number of credits allotted to each of the courses, and

‘Gi’ = grade-point obtained by the student in the respective courses.
