Thapar University BTech Admission 2019 Seats Application Form Eligibility: Thapar University, Patiala offers undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and Technology. According to notification issued by Thapar University the process of admission in first year of BE / BTECH program, Dual-Degree BE-MBA program and the International Engineering program has been started. Admissions to UG program is done as per merit prepared by Thapar University on the basis of marks secured by the candidate in JEE(Main)-2019.

Eligibility Criteria

The details about the eligibility criteria for admission in various BE / BTECH programs of Thapar University 2019 is given here. A candidate shall be eligible for admission in the UG programs subject to the following conditions:

i The candidate should be a citizen of India.
ii The candidate should be born on or after October 1, 1994 (October 1, 1989 for SC/ST/PH candidates).
iii The candidate should have passed 12th class with a score in JEE Main 2019 with the following alternatives:
Alternative 1
a) Passed 12th class securing 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC ST) in following subjects: Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.
OR
Passed Diploma with 60% Marks (55% Marks for SC ST)
b) Performance in JEE Main 2019: secured at least 72 aggregate marks (54 marks for SC ST) in JEE (Main)-2019.

Alternative 2

a) Passed 12th class securing 80% aggregate marks (75% for SC ST) in following subjects: Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject.
b) Performance in JEE Main 2019: secured at least 48 aggregate marks (30 marks for SC ST) in JEE (Main)-2019.

• 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates who have passed qualifying examination from School/College/Institute located in the state of Punjab.
• 3 seats are reserved for The children of employees of Punjab Govt. posted/deputed outside Punjab.
• 2% seats (16) are reserved for outstanding sports persons possessing sports gradation certificates A, B or C issued by the Director of Sports, Punjab.

• 1% (16) over and above seats are reserved for children of employees of Thapar University in each discipline.
• 15% of the sanctioned strength (over and above of the total seats) in a program are reserved for Foreign Nationals and NRI students.
• Thapar University does not have any direct admission by management quota seats.

Admission to board toppers: Direct admission to the first year of UG program shall be given to the first five toppers (science stream) of the recognized Boards of India in the examinations held in 2019. They must have appeared in JEE (Main)-2019 and whatsoever may be their score. They shall be allocated branch of their choice. Such candidates shall have to furnish proof of being toppers from their respective boards. Tuition fee shall also be waived off for such students provided they maintain minimum CGPA of 8.50 in subsequent semesters.

Admission in B.Tech. (Biotechnology)

A candidate shall be eligible for admission in the BTech (Biotechnology) subject to the following conditions:

i The candidate should be a citizen of India.
ii The candidate should be born on or after October 1, 1994 (October 1, 1989 for SC/ST/PH candidates).
iii The candidate should have passed 12th class with a score in NEET 2019 with the following alternatives:
Alternative 1
a) Passed 12th class securing 60% aggregate marks (55% for SC ST) in following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
b) Performance in NEET 2019: secured at least 20% aggregate marks (15% marks for SC ST) in NEET-2019.

Alternative 2

a) Passed 12th class securing 80% aggregate marks (75% for SC ST) in following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
b) Performance in NEET 2019: secured at least 15% aggregate marks (10% marks for SC ST) in NEET-2019.

The admission shall be made on the basis of merit of score in NEET-2019.
Total seats available: 50 (Gen- 35, SC/ST-13, PH-2)

Note: Candidates awaiting result of qualifying exam can also apply. However, they will have to submit the final result of qualifying examination at the time of document verification during in-person counselling.

Application Form

The candidates should fill Thapar University online application form 2019 for admission in BTech program which is available at www.thapar.edu.
If application fee is paid through an online transfer, then there is no need to send any documents.
However, if the application fee is paid through demand draft in favour of Thapar University payable at Patiala, then filled downloaded application form along with demand draft of application fee, must be sent by post/courier/speed post or by hand to the following address on or before the last date of submission of application.

Application Fee is Rs. 1500/- Candidates can pay application form fee online through Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or offline through Demand Draft (DD).
