RTU CBCS Grading System Passing grade marks attendance rules BTech applicable from the year 2017 are explained here.

RTU Credit System

Each course / subject has been assigned credits depending upon its lecture, tutorial and laboratory contact hours in a week in a semester.

  • Credits for Lectures/Tutorial: 01 lecture/tutorial hour per week per semester= 01 credit
  • Credits for Laboratory: 02 laboratory hour per week per semester= 01 credit. 03 laboratory hour per week per semester= 02 credit.
  • Discipline and extra curricular activities per year = 01 credit

RTU Grading System

Performance of a candidate will be reported through letter grades, each assigned a number of points, based on the range of total marks (out of 100) obtained by the candidate in each course.

Award of degree

Rajasthan Technical University RTU final Degree is awarded based on the following:

CGPA ≥ 7.75 – Honors

CGPA ≥ 6.75 < 7.75 – First Division

CGPA ≥ 5.75 < 6.75 – Second Division

CGPA ≥ 4.75 < 5.75 – Pass

For the award of Degree, a student should have secured a minimum of 4.75 CGPA.

The minimum credits to be obtained for the award of degree are 192. The credit of the course where the student has scored minimum passing grade D is considered for the award of the degree.

RTU Attendance rule

All the students are required to have a minimum attendance of 75% of the total number of classes held in a course including lectures, tutorials and practicals. The student who is not meeting of attendance criteria shall not be allowed to appear in the end term examination for that course.

Shortage of attendance

The principal of the college may condone shortage in attendance up to 3%.  If the shortage in attendance is larger but less than 6% it shall be sent to the vice chancellor of the university for approval. Further, the vice chancellor of the university may condone shortage in attendance up to 5% on his discretion.

Duration of programs

Duration of the program to complete the B.E/B.Tech. is 8 registered semesters but in any case not more than 14 registered semesters. The maximum duration of the program to complete the degree is 8 years from the time of commencement of the course.
