RGPV PG examinations

The Post Graduate courses in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture shall be divided into four semesters in the case of full-time courses and six semesters in the case of part-time courses. RGPV shall conduct University Examinations at the end of each semester.

RGPV ME / M Tech/  M Arch Project

The candidate shall undertake research work, in connection with any of the aspects of technology relevant to the course selected in the Fourth semester (full-time course) and sixth semester ( part-time course). Before submitting the dissertation, the candidate shall present a pre-submission seminar on his/her work. The candidate is supposed to submit three typed or printed copies of the dissertation written by him/her to the university through the Director/Principal of the college.

Thus, RGPV ME M TECH M ARCH minimum passing marks are 40%.

RGPV M.E./ M.TECH./ M.Arch. SGPA & CGPA

RGPV Semester Grade Points Average (SGPA) shall be calculated as under:-

Where ci = number of credits offered in the i th subject and, pi = corresponding grade point earned in the i th subject.  i = 1,2,….. n , are the number of subjects in that semester.

RGPV Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) shall be calculated as under:-

NCj = number of total credits offered in the jth semester, SGj = SGPA earned in the jth semester, where j = 1,2,….. m, are the number of semesters.

RGPV ME / M Tech/  M Arch PROMOTION TO HIGHER SEMESTER AND YEAR

Following are the  promotion rule of  postgraduate program ME Mtech M Arch:

  • The degree will be awarded to those students who have secured CGPA equal to or more than 5.0.
  • In order to pass a particular subject of the course, the minimum passing grade is D. The candidate is required to score separately a minimum of grade D in end semester examinations of theory and practical parts of the subject.
  • A candidate who fails to score the minimum of grade D in more than two subjects in a particular year, shall not be admitted to the next higher year. Theory and Practical of the same subject shall be treated as two subjects.
  • If a candidate has passed all the subjects of the course but could not score a minimum CGPA of 5.0, such a candidate may be allowed to improve requisite grade point by reappearing in maximum of two theory /practical, subjects chosen from subjects of first to third semesters for full-time candidates and first to fifth semesters for part-time candidates in the ensuing examination. Theory and practical of a subject are considered as separate subjects.

RGPV PG CONDONATION OF DEFICIENCY (GRACE MARKS)

RGPV shall award One grace mark to the candidate who is either failing in any semester or missing distinction/ first division by one mark,  in the M.E./ M.TECH./ M.Arch. examination.

RGPV PG AWARD OF DIVISION

Division or Class shall be awarded only after the fourth (sixth for part time course) and final semester examination based on the total performance of the candidate for all the two(three for part-time course) years as given below:

CGPA Scored Division
7.5 ≤ CGPA First Division With Honours
6.5 ≤ CGPA < 7.5 First Division
5.0 ≤ CGPA < 6.5 Second Division

RGPV PG conversion of grade CGPA to percentage

The conversion from grade to an equivalent percentage in a given academic program shall be according to the following formula applicable

Percentage marks scored= CGPA x 10

RGPV POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA

A candidate shall be awarded Post Graduate Diploma on successful completion of the first three semesters of full-time course or the first five semesters of part-time course, with minimum CGPA of 5.0, if he/she withdraws from the course or fails to submit his/her project report within the maximum duration of the course.

RGPV DURATION OF COURSE

The maximum duration of the ME, MTECH, MARCH course shall be five years in the case of full time candidates and seven years in the case of part-time candidates. However, one mercy attempt shall be applicable.

RGPV M.E./ M.TECH./ M.Arch ATTENDANCE

Candidates should have a minimum attendance of 75% of lecturers delivered and of the practicals held, separately in each paper.  A shortfall in attendance up to 10% and 5% on valid reasons can be condoned by the Director/Principal of the College and Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, respectively.

  1. Sir I have completed ME in digital and communication, my cgpa is 8.02 , I want to know (1) marks obtained and (2) Total marks . I have passed in year 2018 and from RGPV University.
