JNTUA CEP Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) and Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):
SGPA is the ratio of sum of the product of the number of credits with the grade points scored in all the courses and the sum of the number of credits of all the courses in a semester, i.e.
SGPA = Σ (Ci × Gi)/ Σ Ci
Where
Ci is the credits of the ith subject and
Gi is the grade point scored in the ith course.
CGPA is calculated in the same manner taking into account all the courses of all the semesters of a program, i.e.
SGPA = Σ (Ci × Gi)/ Σ Ci
Both SGPA and CGPA shall be rounded off to 2 decimal points.
The subjects in which the student has got Zero grade points will also be included.
Grade Point: It is a numerical weight allotted to each letter grade on a 10-point scale.
Letter Grade: The performance of students in a said course is given in grades. Grades are denoted by letters A, B, C, D, F.

B. Tech. Degree awarded to a student shall be placed in one of the following four classes:
CGPA | CLASS |
≥7.5 | First Class with Distinction |
≥6.5 but < 7.5 | First Class |
≥5.5 but < 6.5 | Second Class |
≥4.0 but <5.5 | Pass Class |
It may be noted that CGPA to a maximum of extent of 0.05 shall be added if a student is missing his next class for all the courses being offered. There shall be no adding of any marks to the original marks secured by the students.
