JNAFAU grading system CBCS for B.Tech.(FSP) Programme

 Regulations for Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) and Continuous Assessment System for B Tech FSP (Bachelor of Technology Facilities and Services Planning) degree course. Applicable from 2017-18

Programmes offered

B Tech FSP (Bachelor of Technology Facilities and Services Planning) degree course 

Eligibility for admission 

Intermediate (M.P.C) / 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/equivalent qualification.Qualify in EAMCET 

Scheme of Instructions 

B Tech FSP Degree programme is of 08 semesters (four years duration). Max duration for completion 16 semesters (eight years)

Evaluation

50% of the marks via internal assessment and 

50% via end semester examinations. 

100% of the assessment purely through internal assessment for few courses. 

Attendance

At least 75% attendance  in aggregate of all the courses registered in the semester . Exemption up to a maximum of 10%  (65% and above, and below 75%) for valid reasons including medical issues.  

Pass Marks

A candidate is required to secure minimum 40% marks in Semester End Exam and 40% marks in the semester end exam plus internal examination put together; in terms of letter grades, this implies securing ‘E’ grade or above in that subject/ course

Promotion between Semesters

odd to even semester: A student can get promoted from odd to even semester if the minimum

attendance requirement is fulfilled.

even to odd semester: A student can be promoted from even to odd semester, if the minimum

attendance requirement is fulfilled and requirements specified below are fulfilled.

From 2nd sem. to 3rd sem.

If the student does not have more than 03 backlog courses in the 1st semester.

From 4th sem. to 5th sem.

Secured all the credits upto 2nd semester and

does not have more than 03 backlog courses in the 3rd semester

From 6th sem. to 7th sem.

Secured all the credits upto 4th semester and

does not have more than 03 backlog courses in the 5th semester

Improvement examination

Re-admission: If a student is detained in a course due to shortage of attendance or the student takes a break of study, the student is required to take readmission to continue the program. 

Re-registration: If a student has failed in a course because of low internal assessment marks, but the student is having satisfactory attendance, the student can re-register to improve performance in internal assessment as well as external evaluation. 

Re-appearance/ supplementary examinations: If a student has failed in a course and interested to improve performance only in end semester external examination the student can register to reappear for the supplementary examination

A student if earns minimum an E grade in a course has been successfully completed the course and earned credits. A course successfully completed cannot be repeated.

Award of Division 

5 ≤ CGPA < 6 Pass Class

6 ≤ CGPA < 7 Second Class

7 ≤ CGPA < 8 First Class

8 ≤ CGPA < 10 First Class with Distinction

Note: In all the above cases CGPA shall be calculated from the Grade Points secured for the best 228 credits. For the award of degree the candidate should have secured a minimum of 5.0 CGPA
