The JEE (Main) 2014 is the entrance exam which will be conducted for getting admission in National Institute of Technology- NITs, Indian Institute of Information Technology – IIITs. The JEE (Main) will also be used in getting admission in Centrally Funded Technical Institutions & participating State Government Institutions etc.
For admission into these institutes a merit/rank list shall be prepared in which 40% weightage will be given to class 12th or equivalent examination marks and 60% weightage will be given to JEE(Main) marks.The JEE (Main) Entrance Exam is also the eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) Exam required to be taken for admission to Indian Institute of Technology – IITs & Indian School of Mines – ISM Dhanbad.
The candidates seeking admission to the institutions in the States of Gujarat, Maharashtra and Odisha, should take JEE (Main) – 2014
IITJEE (Main) – 2014 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-
JEE (Main) 2014 –DATE OF BIRTH
General Candidates who want to take exam should be Born or after October 01, 1989 while Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with
Disabilities (PwD) candidates should be Born or after October 01, 1984
For this purpose the Secondary Education Board/University certificate will
only be considered.
JEE (Main) 2014 – YEAR OF APPEARANCE IN QUALIFYING EXAMINATION (QE)
Candidates should have passed Class 12th Exam in 2012 or 2013
Candidates appearing in Class 12th Exam in 2014 are also eligible.
JEE (Main) 2014 – NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS
The number of attempts shall be limited to 03 (three).
NO. OF ATTEMPTS AND AGE LIMIT FOR THE STATES OF MAHARASHTRA AND ODISHA
This is same as above for admission to IITs/NITs/IIITs/CFTIs.
The age limit for admission to other institutions in these states will be as per their past practice. The number of attempts will also remain same as per their past practice.
