Integral University calculation of SGPI and CGPI

1/5 (1) (Last Updated On: 17/11/2017)

Integral University calculation of SGPI and CGPI is done as follows:

Semester Grade Performance Index (SGPI)

The SGPI is the weighted average of the grade points obtained by a student in all the courses of a semester.

Let there are five courses (Theory/labs./Projects/ Seminar etc.) in a semester with credits C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5 and

A student secures grade points in these courses are G1, G2, G3, G4 and G5 respectively, then

SGPI = (C1G1+ C2G2 + C3G3+ C4G4 + C5G5)/( C1 + C2 + C3+ C4+C5)

Note:

The SGPI should be calculated upto two decimal places.

For calculation of SGPI, “AB” grade is also taken into account

Cumulative Grade Performance Index (CGPI)

The CGPI is the weighted average of the grade points obtained by a student in all the courses starting from first semester upto end of last semester in which  he/she appeared.

The CGPI is calculated at the end of every semester upto two decimal places and is indicated in semester grade report cards.

Let there are “n” courses (Theory/labs./Projects/ Seminar etc.) in all the semester up to which CGPI is to be calculated. These courses have credits C1, C2, C3, C4, ….. and Cn and

A student secures grade points in these courses are G1, G2, G3, G4 ….. and Gn respectively, then

CGPI= (C1G1+ C2G2 + C3G3………+ CiGi …….+ CnGn)/( C1 + C2 + C3….+ Ci….+Cn)
