DIT University calculation of SGPA and CGPA is explained here:
The Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) shall be a weighted average of the grade points earned by a student in all the courses in a semester. Let the points corresponding to the letter grades awarded to a student are G1, G2,G3,…….Gk and the corresponding credits are C1, C2, C3,.…..Ck, then SGPA is calculated as follows:
where
k=the number of courses for which the candidate has registered during the semester/ trimester.
The Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) shall be a weighted average of the grade points earned by a student in all the courses upto and including the latest completed semester. CGPA is calculated as follows:
where
n = no. of all courses completed.
DIT University Conversion of CGPA into percentage of marks
Marks percentage equivalent of CGPA can be obtained by multiplying the CGPA by 10.
%age of marks = CGPA X 10

HOW DO I CONVERT MARKS OBTAINED IN EACH SEMESTER, WHAT WILL BE TOTAL MARKS WHEN EACH SUBJECT IS OF DIFFERENT CREDIT?
DIT University follows relative grading system, that is your grade in a subject depends on how others have performed in that subject.
Different subjects have different credits which decide the weight of that subject in the GPA.
Step 1- Depending upon the marks the grades are calculated
If you marks is b/w 91–100 than you will get A+ point 10
If you marks is b/w 81–90 than you will get A point 9
If you marks is b/w 71–80 than you will get B+ point 8
If you marks is b/w 61–70 than you will get B point 7
If you marks is b/w 51–60 than you will get C+ point 6
If you marks is b/w 41–50 than you will get C point 5
If you marks is b/w 31–40 than you will get D point 4
If you marks is b/w 21–30 than you will get E point 3
If you marks is b/w 1–20 than you will get F point 2
Step 2- than multiply the grade points with the credit given to a particular subject
Step 3- than add all
Step 4- add the credit given to a particular subject
Step 5 -than divide the total added grade points ×with credit by the total subject credit and you will get you sgpa
Let us take the following scenario 4 subjects:
1. *Subject 1 -4.5 credits*
2. *Subject 2 -4 credits*
3. *Subject 3 -3.5 credits*
4. *Subject 4 -1 credit*
Now assume that the grades scored are as follows:
1. *Subject 1 -A(9 points)*
2. *Subject 2 -B+(8 points)*
3. *Subject 3 -A+(10 points)*
4. *Subject 4 -C+(6 points)*
Now you multiply credit with the grade you scored and add them up as follows:
1. *Subject 1- 4.5*9=40.5*
2. *Subject 2 -4*8=32*
3. *Subject 3 – 3.5*10=35*
4. *Subject 4 – 1*6=6*
**Total weight=40.5+32+35+6=113.5**
**Total credits=4.5+4+3.5+1=13**
**GPA=113.5/13=8.73**
So,this is how GPA is calculated.
Now the grade you score in a subject totally depends on the topper’s marks,it is possible that you score in 80’s and end up getting A+,so it all depends on the highest marks.
