CSJM University (Kanpur Univ) grades, division, attendance rules for B Tech are as follows:

Kanpur University CSJMU examination system B Tech

The examination system will be a continuous process of evaluation and one end-semester examination.

The following guidelines for assessment in each subject shall be followed:

i) There should be at least two Quizzes 15 %

ii) Based on Attendance 05 %

iii) There should be Mid-semester examination in a course without lab component 30 %

iv) There should be End–semester examination in a course without lab component 50%

v) There should be Mid-semester examination in a course with lab component 20 %

vi) There should be End–semester examination in a course with lab component 40%

vii) Lab component should be of 20%

Kanpur CSJM University duration of program BTech

The maximum time allowed for completing the B. Tech program shall be seven years to a student. Special permission for extension of this time limit may be given to a student by the Vice Chancellor under exceptional circumstances.

CSJM Kanpur University grading system BTech

Relative grading system shall be followed. The letter grades and the grade points assigned to them are given below:

Grade F: The students failed in a course shall be given grade F. The student shall have to repeat the same course. After repeating the course, the letter R will be marked with the new grade obtained in the Grade Sheet to indicate that the course was repeated.

Grade I: A student may be awarded a grade “I” means “Incomplete”  if he/she has missed the End Semester Examination (Theory and/or Practical) with prior permission. The permission is granted under only unavoidable Circumstances. Automatic “I” grade will not be awarded just for not appearing in the final examination without permission.

Special provision for graduating student

A special End Semester Examination may be conducted for a graduating student who has only one pending F grade at the end of eight semesters and has a CPI ≥ 5.00.  The students of previous batches having only one pending F grade can also appear in this examination.

Improvement Provision

A student having a CPI < 5.00 will be permitted to improve grades after eight semesters only. Improvement shall be allowed only when the student registers for a regular course.

Kanpur University award of division B Tech

Division is awarded to the students who have completed their graduation in all respects. The division is awarded as follows:

– First division with distinction: CPI greater than or equal to 7.50

– First division: CPI greater than or equal to 6.50

– Second division: CPI greater than or equal to 5.00 but less than 6.50

CSJM University Attendance Rule

A student should have minimum of 75% attendance for each of the courses in every semester.  Relaxation in attendance on medical grounds or any other genuine reason may be granted by the Director, UIET, max. up to 15% on the recommendation of the concerned Head of the Department. Students having attendance less than 60% shall not be given attendance marks and shall not be allowed to take end semester examination.
