CAT 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for CAT Exam is as follows:

1. The general category candidate applying for CAT should have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university scoring min 50% marks in aggregate. Engineering graduates should have equivalent CGPA.

2. The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Differently Abled category candidates should have a graduate degree in any discipline scoring min 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

3. CAT eligibility criteria for the candidates appearing in the final year of graduate degree or equivalent examination: These candidates are allowed to take CAT. However, such candidates if selected by IIMs should submit a certificate from the Principal or Registrar of institution mentioning that the applicant has fulfilled the criteria for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification, latest by June 30.

4. List of Equivalent Qualification as per CAT eligibility criteria is as follows:

B.E/B.Tech in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2/ Post B.Sc./ Post Diploma )

or

AMIE from Institution of Engineers, India

AMICE from Institute of Civil Engineers, India

or

Any Qualification recognized by Association of Indian Universities New Delhi.

or

Equivalency certificate is to be produced in cases not covered above from Association of Indian Universities New Delhi
