Bharathiar University Credit System
Credits: It is the weightage given to each course of study (subject)
Credit System: It is the course of study under this regulations in which weightage of credits are spread over to different semesters during the period of study. A total of 140 credits are prescribed for the 03 years Undergraduate Programme.
Bharathiar University Grading System
Performance of a candidate will be given by letter grades, each assigned a number of points, based on the range of total marks (out of 100) obtained by the candidate in each course.

Bharathiar University Minimum Passing Marks
A candidate who obtains not less than 40% in the University (external) Examination and 40% marks in the external examination and continuous internal assessment put together in any course is considered to have passed the examination in the subject (theory or Practical ).
Improvement of Marks in the subjects already passed
Candidates interested in improving the marks obtained in a passed subject in their first attempt may reappear once within a period of subsequent 02 semesters. The improved marks shall not be considered for ranking. There shall not be any change in the original marks already awarded if after reappearing marks are not improved.

Duration of the Undergraduate Programme
The course shall extend over a period of 03 academic years comprising 02 semesters in one academic year.
Candidates get fail in any of the course of Part I, II, III, IV & V of UG degree examinations may complete the course within 5 years from the date of admission.
Bharathiar University Attendance rule
A candidate is allowed to appear for the university examinations for any semester (practical/theory) if He/she secures not less than 75% of attendance in the number of working days during the semester.
A candidate who has obtained less than 65% but 55% and above attendance in any semester is required to compensate the shortage in attendance in the subsequent semester. The candidate is required to earn the required percentage of attendance in that semester separately. The candidate is required to appear for both semester papers together at the end of the later semester.
A candidate who has secured less than 55% of attendance in any semester shall not be allowed to appear for the regular examinations. The candidate is not allowed to continue the study in the subsequent semester. He/she is required to rejoin the semester in which the attendance is less than 55%.
