BANGALORE UNIVERSITY BU MBA CBCS GRADING SYSTEM RULES (2014 – 15 onwards) are as follows:

These rules are applicable to MBA Programs of Canara Bank School of Management Studies and its affiliated colleges.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

The cadidate should have a bachelor degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline securing at least 50% (45% for SC/ST/Cat I candidates) marks in aggregate from a recognized University in India or abroad. OR
The cadidate should have a honors degree under 10+2+4 pattern with min 50% (45% for SC /ST /Cat I candidates) marks in aggregate.

Note
The cadidate who have passed bachelor / master degree through correspondence / Open University system are exempted from 10+2 pattern.
The candidates who have passed bachelor /master degree in single sitting pattern are not eligible.
All the admissions will be done through an entrance test.

DURATION OF THE COURSE
The duration of the MBA course shall be two academic years (4 semesters). Max duration is twice the number of years of the course.

CREDITS
Compulsory (Core) Course and specialization course may have 2 to 4 credits. Open electives course shall be of 3 credits.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

Each subject carries 100 marks. Contineous Internal Assessment shall be of 30 marks and End Semester Exam will be of 70 marks.

A) Internal Assessment
The Internal Assessment for 30 Marks are distributed as follows:

BANGALORE UNIVERSITY BU MBA MINIMUM MARKS FOR PASSING
A candidate should have secured at least a CGPA of 4.0 in the aggregate of both internal assessment and semester end examination marks put together in each unit such as theory papers / practical / project work / dissertation / viva-voce.

The candidates who have passed all the semester examinations in the first attempts and secured at least CGPA of 6.0 are considered for the award of ranks.
A candidate who passes the semester examinations in parts is eligible for only Class / CGPA and Alpha- Sign Grade but not for ranking.
There are no minimum marks are required to be scored in internal assessment.

BU MBA CARRY OVER Rule
Candidates who fail in the lower semester examinations may take higher semester examinations.

BU MBA ATTENDANCE RULE
Attendance of the student should not be less than 75% in each subject. As an incetive, 05 marks in internal assessment will be given on the basis of attendance.
The student who does not fulfill the requirement of attendance shall not be permitted in the examination of that subject(s).
