ANNA UNIVERSITY CREDIT SYSTEM BE B TECH AWARD OF DEGREE AND DIVISION

THE AWARD OF DEGREE ELIGIBILITY 

Following are the eligibility criteria for the award of the B.E. / B.Tech. Degree.

i) The student should have Successfully gained the required number of total credits as specified in the curriculum corresponding to his/her programme within the stipulated time.

ii) The student should have Successfully completed the course requirements and has passed all the subjects prescribed in all the 8 semesters within a maximum period of 8 years reckoned from the commencement of the first semester to which the candidate was admitted.

iii) The student should have Successfully completed any additional courses prescribed by the Director, Academic Courses whenever, any candidate is readmitted under regulations other than R-2012

iv)The student should have Completed the NCC / NSS / NSO / YRC requirements.
v) There is No disciplinary action pending against the student.
vi) The award of Degree must have been approved by the Syndicate of the University.

THE DEGREE CLASSIFICATION

FIRST CLASS WITH DISTINCTION

A candidate who satisfies the following conditions shall be declared to have passed the examination in First class with Distinction as per regulation 2012:

  • The student should have Should have passed the End semester examination in all the courses
    of all the eight semesters (six semesters for lateral entry) in his/her First Appearance within four years (three years for lateral entry students). Withdrawal from examination will not be construed as an appearance.
  • The student should have Should have secured a CGPA of not less than 8.50
  • The student Should NOT have been prevented from writing end semester examination
    due to lack of attendance in any of the semesters. One year authorized break of study (if availed of) is permitted in addition to four years for award of First class with Distinction

FIRST CLASS

A candidate who satisfies the following conditions shall be declared to have passed the examination in First class:

  • The student should have passed the End semester examination in all the courses of all the eight semesters (six semesters for lateral entry) within four years (three years for lateral entry students). Withdrawal from examination will not be construed as an appearance.
  • The student should have secured a CGPA of not less than 6.50 One year authorized break of study (if availed of) or prevention from writing End semester examination due to lack of attendance is permitted in addition to four years for the award of First Class.

SECOND CLASS

All other candidates (not covered above) who qualify for the award of the degree shall be declared to have passed the examination in Second Class.
A candidate who is absent in semester examination in a course / project work after having registered for the same shall be considered to have appeared in that examination for the purpose of classification.
