Performance in  theory and practical (including project work & viva voce Examinations) shall be evaluated for a maximum of 100 marks which is divided as

(i) Internal assessments 20 marks and

(ii) End Semester Examination 80 marks.

A candidate who secures not less than 50% of total marks prescribed for the course [Internal Assessment + End semester University Examinations] with a minimum of 45% of the marks prescribed for the end-semester University Examination, shall be declared to have passed the course.

Anna University conducts end semester exam for  100 marks and score of a student is reduced to that out of 80 marks.

Anna University Minimum passing marks are 45 out of 100 in end semester exam. i.e. reduced to 36 out of 80 marks.

So, minimum internal marks required to pass the exam can be found by

(Pass Marks out of 100)  50 = Internal Marks out of 20 + (End sem pass marks out of 80) 36

Therefore, Internal Marks = 50 – 36 = 14

So, in order to score pass marks in the exam of Anna University minimum internal marks are 14 out of 20 and minimum end sem exam marks are 45 out of 100.
