SPPU B Tech Passing marks rule

The student is required to earn Minimum of 40% marks marks in each head to pass the term work / Practical / Oral.

In order to pass the Theory Subject head the student has to earn minimum of 40 per cent marks in End- Semester exam and 40 percent average marks (In-Semester marks + End-Semester marks).

The failing student can repeat the End-Semester exam to pass the head in any semester and the In-Semester exam marks will be retained as it is. Alternatively the failing student can repeat for End-Semester exam as well as in-semester exam. for the head of Even semester in the Even semester only and for the head of Odd semester in Odd semester only for the theory head.

To earn credits of a course (Theory/term work/practical/oral/presentation) student must pass the course with minimum passing marks/grade.

A student can register for the 3rd semester (SE), if the student earns minimum 50% credits of the total of 1st and 2nd semesters(FE).

A student can register for the 5th semester(TE), if the student earns minimum 50% credits of the total of 3rd and 4th semesters(SE) and all the credits of 1st and 2nd semester(FE).

A student can register for the 7th semester(BE), if the student earns minimum 50% credits of the total of 5th and 6th semesters(TE) and all the credits of 3rd and 4th semester(SE).

A student will be awarded the bachelor’s degree if the student earns 190 credits and clears all the audit courses specified in the syllabus.

SPPU Pune University award of division

The class shall be awarded to a student on the CGPA secured by her/ him.

1. First Class with Distinction: 7.75 or More than 7.75
2. First Class: 6.75 or more but less than 7.75
3. Higher Second Class: 6.25 or more but less than 6.75
4. Second Class: 5.5 or more but less than 6.25
