WBJEE 2017 Exam Date, Application Form, Eligibility, Pattern

If you are interested in taking admission in undergraduate program of colleges in West Bengal, you are required to take WBJEE. This exam is organized by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for admission of students in Medical and Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy colleges in West Bengal.

WBJEE 2017 – Eligibility:

Candidate should first verify the eligibility as per the norms released by the JEE. The eligibility criteria is explained below:

Candidate should be a citizen of India.

Domicile Requirement:
There are different requirements for Domicile or Residential Status of Candidates applying for different colleges under WBJEE 2017 Entrance Exam. Reserved category students should be domicile of West Bengal for admission in all courses and all colleges. General category students need not be domicile of WB for admission into following colleges:
State-Aided Universities offering Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy /Architecture courses and Self Financing Universities/Colleges offering Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy /Architecture courses

Age Limit for Engineering Courses:
Candidate must have completed 17 years of age on 31/12/2017.
There is not any upper age limit.

Age Limit for Marine Engineering:
The minimum age should be 17 years on 31/12/2017.
Upper age should not be more than 25 years on 31/07/2017.

Academic Requirements:

Calcutta University (except Department of Fibre and Jute Technology):
Candidate should be passed out in Class XII (or equivalent) of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Candidate should be passed individually in Maths /Biology , Chemistry and Physics.
Candidate should have scored Minimum 60% in PCM for general category and 55% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates. Candidate should have passed in English. Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

Calcutta University: Department of Fibre and Jute Technology:
Candidate should be passed out individually in the subjects of Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects and any one of BIO TECHNOLOGY/CHEMISTRY/ BIOLOGY.
Candidate should have scored minimum 45% marks in the above mentioned subjects for general category students.
Candidate should have scored minimum 40% marks in the above mentioned subjects for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PwD.
Candidate should have scored at least 30% in English.Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

Marine Engineering:
A pass in the Qualifying Exam with 60% marks in PCM and candidate should have passed INDIVIDUALLY in each of them.
You must have also secured 50% marks in the subject of English either in Class X or XII.

Jadavpur University:
Candidate should be passed out in Class XII (or equivalent) of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Candidate should be passed individually in Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
Candidate should have scored Minimum 60% in PCM for general category and 45% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates. Candidate should have scored Minimum 60% in Maths for general category and 45% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates.Candidate should have passed in English. Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

Other Colleges
Candidate should be passed out in Class XII (or equivalent) of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Candidate should be passed individually in Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
Candidate should have scored Minimum 45% in PCM for general category and 40% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates.Candidate should have passed in English. Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

Personal Details: Candidate should fill his personal details and generate an Application number. During process candidate will have to choose a password. The candidate will need the above Application No. and Password for all future login.

Document Uploading: Candidates should upload the following documents (in JPG format) in one session. Candidates are required to send any document by post.

Confirmation Page: Lastly the confirmation Page will be generated. The candidate should take a printout and preserve the confirmation page for future reference. At this stage candidate is registered for WBJEE 2017.

Exam Pattern

WBJEE 2017 Test will be conducted as a Paper Pen based Test at various exam centers. Questions are to be answered on OMR Answer Sheet. Exam will be conducted in three sessions. There will be three papers namely, Physics + Chemistry, Maths and Biological Sciences. Questions will be multiple choice type. There will be negative marking. Questions will be of three categories as given in table:

Admit Card

Candidates can download their Admit Card from the website http://wbjeeb.nic.in
Candidate should bring to the examination centre a printed hard copy of the admit card along with a photograph identical with the one uploaded earlier.
Candidates with spoiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in WBJEE-2017.
