WBJEE Exam on 22 April 2018

WBEE Exam will be held on 22 April 2018. This has been announced by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, Kolkata. If you are interested in taking admission in undergraduate program (Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy) of colleges in West Bengal, you are required to take WBJEE. This exam is organized by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for admission of students in Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy colleges in West Bengal. Application Form for WBJEE 2018 has to be filled online only at www.wbjeeb.nic.in. There is no provision of printed application form. Subject of Exam: ‘Paper-I’ - Mathematics and ‘Paper-II’ - Physics & Chemistry combined.

Appear in
1. For getting admission in Engineering/Technology/Architecture Course/ Pharmacy Course of the Jadavpur University (both Paper-I and Paper-II)
2. For getting admission in Pharmacy Course (paper-II only)
3. Students appearing in both Paper-I and Paper-II are also eligible for admission to Pharmacy course.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of WBJEE is explained below:

Only citizens of India can write this exam.

Domicile Requirement:
There are different requirements for Domicile of Candidates.

Reserved category students should be domicile of West Bengal for admission in all courses and all colleges.

General category students need not be domicile of WB for admission into following colleges:
Self Financing Universities/Colleges offering Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy /Architecture courses

Domicile requirement is also applicable for any seat under the TFW (Tuition Fee Waiver) Scheme.

Domicile requirement is also applicable for any seat in Govt. colleges.

Age Limit for Engineering Courses:
Candidate must have completed 17 years of age on 31st December.
There is not any upper age limit.

Age Limit for Marine Engineering:
The minimum age should be 17 years on 31st December.
Upper age should not be more than 25 years on 31st December.

Academic Requirements:

For appearing in the both Paper-I and Paper-II (Merit Rank List-I GMR):
a) Candidate should have passed the ‘10+2’ class with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects from a recognised institution.
b) Candidate should have scored at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together.
c) Candidate should have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.

For appearing only in Paper-II (Merit Rank List-II PMR):
a) Candidate should have passed ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Chemistry along with any one of Mathematics / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science /Computer Application as compulsory subjects from a recognised institution.
b) Candidate should have scored at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in the above three subjects taken together.
c) Candidate should have passed English in the ‘10+2’ examination with at least 30% marks.

A candidate appearing in the ‘10+2’ Standard may also apply.

Calcutta University (except Department of Fibre and Jute Technology):
Candidate should be passed out in Class XII (or equivalent) of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Candidate should be passed individually in Maths /Biology , Chemistry and Physics.
Candidate should have scored Minimum 60% in PCM for general category and 55% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates. Candidate should have passed in English. Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

Calcutta University: Department of Fibre and Jute Technology:
Candidate should be passed out individually in the subjects of Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects and any one of BIO TECHNOLOGY/CHEMISTRY/ BIOLOGY.
Candidate should have scored minimum 45% marks in the above mentioned subjects for general category students.
Candidate should have scored minimum 40% marks in the above mentioned subjects for the candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PwD.
Candidate should have scored at least 30% in English.Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

Marine Engineering:
A pass in the Qualifying Exam with 60% marks in PCM and candidate should have passed INDIVIDUALLY in each of them.
You must have also secured 50% marks in the subject of English either in Class X or XII.

Jadavpur University:
Candidate should be passed out in Class XII (or equivalent) of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.
Candidate should be passed individually in Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
Candidate should have scored Minimum 60% in PCM for general category and 45% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates. Candidate should have scored Minimum 60% in Maths for general category and 45% for PwD/OBC/ST/SC candidates.Candidate should have passed in English. Candidate should have scored min. 30% marks in Qualifying Exam.

WBJEE Application Form

Candidate should fill up online application form on website http://www.wbjeeb.nic.in.
There are three sections of application procedure

Personal Details: Candidate should fill his personal details and generate an Application number. During process candidate will have to choose a password. The candidate will need the above Application No. and Password for all future login.

Document Uploading: Candidates should upload the following documents (in JPG format) in one session. Candidates are not required to send any document by post.

Fee Payment: Candidate can pay exam fee through Debit / Credit Card or he can pay through Allahabad Bank Challan. WBJEE Exam fee is Rs. 500/-

Note: Bank Service charges are taken extra.

Confirmation Page: Lastly the confirmation Page will be generated. The candidate should take a printout and preserve the confirmation page for future reference.

Exam Pattern

WBJEE Test will be conducted as a Paper Pen based Test at various exam centers. Questions are to be answered on OMR Answer Sheet. Exam will be conducted in two sessions. There will be two papers namely, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Questions will be multiple choice type. There will be negative marking. Questions will be of three categories as given in table:

Admit Card

Candidates can download their Admit Card from the website http://wbjeeb.nic.in
Candidate should bring to the examination centre a printed hard copy of the admit card along with a photograph identical with the one uploaded earlier.
Candidates with spoiled admit cards will not be allowed to appear in WBJEE.
