As per CBSE Notification JEE MAIN will be conducted on 08 April 2018. Students who want to make career in Engineering and Architecture should take this examination. Candidates deserios of taking admission to National Institutes of Technology NITs, Indian Institutes of Information Technology IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions CFTIs, Indian Institute of Technology IITs and many other institutes should take Joint Entrance Examination Main. Candidates seeking admission to the institutions in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland & Odisha should also take this exam.
Before applying for the examnation, a candidate should confirm his eligibility required by the institute where he / she want to take admission. Students should note eligibility criteria required for taking the IIT JEE Main Exam.
Date of Birth
Students born on or after October 01, 1993 ( October 01, 1988 for SC / ST / PWD Candidates) are eligible.
Students who have passed their Class 12th Exam or any equivalent examination in 2016 or 2017 are eligible.
Students appearing in Class 12th Exam or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2018 are eligible.
NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS
A candidate can attempt the examination 03 (three) times.
Number of subjectsThose candidates who have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/ qualifying examination are eligible.
1. 12th board marks will not be given weightage in 2018 for calculation of ranks.
JEE Advanced: The
JEE (Main) is an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced). Performance
of 12th class will be required only for eligibility for admission in
IIT, NIT, IIITs and CFTIs as mentioned below:
Candidates shall have secured minimum 75% (65% marks for SC / ST Candidates) marks or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th Class Examination conducted by respective boards.
3. No application form would be filled up without Aadhaar number except J&K, Assam & Meghalaya candidates.
The candidates are required to apply online through website http:/www.jeemain.nic.in The online application form can be filled up from 01st December, 2017 onwards. The last date for application is 01st January 2018.
The application form has to be filled completely online. The personal details of the candidate have to be filled online. Candidate has to upload online their photograph, signature. Therefore the candidates are not required to send hard copy of the application.
Candidate should fill up personal details as given in Aadhar Card. This time the candidates will have to enter their AADHAAR number, name, date of birth & gender. Check Aadhaar requirement clarification here
There shall be Paper-1 (for getting admission in B.E. / B. Tech. course) and Paper-2(for getting admission in B. Arch./ B. Planning).
The candidates may take
Paper-1 (B.E. / B. Tech.), or
Paper-2 (B. Arch./ B. Planning), or he / she may appear in both paper.
Paper 1 It is for engineering courses (B.Tech/BE). The paper will consists of subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There will be 90 objective type questions. Each question will carry 4 marks. Wrong answer will fetch -01 mark. Duration of paper will be 03 hours (04 hours for PWD Candidates). Mode of exam will be online as well as offline.
Paper 2: It is for Architecture course. (B.Arch).The paper will consists of subjects - Mathematics, Aptitude, Drawing. The paper will consists of 82 questions as given below. Duration of paper will be 03 hours (04 hours for PWD Candidates). Each correct answer will fetch 04 marks (2 questions of drawing will carry 70 marks). There is negative marking also. Each incorrect answer will fetch -01 mark. Mode of exam will be offline. Language of paper will be Hindi and English
EXAMINATION FEE The fee can be remitted in the following ways; • By Debit/Credit Card. • Through E-challan generated after successful submission of online application form. In case the examination fee is paid through credit/debit card, the candidates will need to pay an additional processing charge as applicable.
